Dozens of gladiators locked in one great battle on the arena sand, blood and broken shields around them

Habet

Run a gladiator school in Pompeii, 73 BC. Buy, train and equip your men, then watch them fight or take control yourself. Keep the survivors fed, tend their wounds, and decide who is sold, buried or freed as war changes the world beyond your gate.

About This Game

You were sold onto the sand and walked off it free. Now you own men who stand where you stood. Buy them, train them, send them out to bleed. Every one of them wants what you were given, and however long you last, the sand is waiting.

BUY MEN

You start with a small gladiator school and not much coin. Buy men off the block. Arm them, feed them, drill them, stitch them up. Set each man's work for the day, teach him new techniques, and decide when he needs rest more than another lesson.

SEND THEM OUT

Towns send for your men. Read the terms, choose who goes, and watch them fight. When it goes wrong, take direct control of one of your gladiators. The men who come home bring coin and wounds. The men who don't are cheaper to feed.

BURY THEM, SELL THEM, FREE THEM

Every man gets an ending. He dies, and his name goes in the memorial. He's sold, and the chronicle says for how much. Or you give him the freedom you were given. The school has no last day. It runs until it falls.

THE WAR NEXT DOOR

Pompeii, 73 BC. Gladiators break out of a school at Capua. Their war reaches you as news at the gate. Prices change, towns stop holding games, and the magistrate's demands shift. You never command their army. You have a school to keep alive.

MERCY TAKES MANY FORMS

Choose whom to reward, whom to sell, and whom to free. You can put a man to death, too. The men left in the yard feel it. Nobody tells you which kind of lanista you are. The chronicle just writes it down.
